Mission

OUR VISION

A world in which highly, exceptionally, and profoundly gifted individuals are understood, valued, and provided with experiences, relationships, and educational opportunities that fit—allowing them to grow, develop, and flourish as their authentic selves.

OUR MISSION

To advance understanding of highly, exceptionally, and profoundly gifted development throughresearch, education, advocacy, collaboration, and opportunity—and to build a diverse international community of individuals, families, professionals, researchers, educators, and other stakeholders committed to the informed and compassionate stewardship of this exceptional population.

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

Profound giftedness might not be what you think it is.

Highly, exceptionally, and profoundly gifted individuals represent a small but significant part of the human population. Their uncommon capacities can profoundly influence how they learn, understand, relate, develop, experience themselves, and engage with the world.

At the Daimon Institute, we focus our efforts on deepening understanding and creating more fitting opportunities for our brightest children and adults.

Through targetedresearch, advocacy, education, collaboration, and opportunity, we seek to more fully understand, identify, and support the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, creative, and altruistic dimensions of gifted development—viewed through the particularly illuminating lens of highly, exceptionally, and profoundly gifted individuals.

We support children, adolescents, and adults whose developmental and educational needs are too often overlooked, misunderstood, minimized, or interpreted through frameworks that do not adequately account for the significance of their exceptional cognitive capacities.

We support the parents and families seeking to understand and nurture them.

And we work alongside educators, psychologists and other mental-health professionals, researchers, academics, advocates, policymakers, and organizations whose knowledge, decisions, and actions influence their lives.

Our aim is to foster a stronger, more connected, informed, and diverse international community—one capable of recognizing both the uncommon needs and the extraordinary possibilities inherent in this population.

We envision highly, exceptionally, and profoundly gifted individuals growing into their lives with authenticity, connection, purpose, and vibrant voices of their own—supported not in becoming who the world expects them to be, but in becoming more fully who they are.

We sincerely welcome your involvement.
